Each cycle, contestants seek to answer that very question; Who is America’s Next Top Model.
The reality television show, was created in 2003 by supermodel Tyra Banks, and gives young female hopefuls from around the United States the opportunity to fulfill their modeling dreams by participating in an elimination style contest that simulates real-life scenarios (photo shoots, catwalks, commercials, go-sees, drama, and catfights) in the modeling profession. The young ladies are then judged each week by a panel of fashion professionals, which have included over the years, Janice Dickinson, Twiggy, Paulina Porizkova, Kimora Lee Simmons, and Andre Leon Talley.Is this new to you? The reality show was renewed for a 17th and 18th cycle on April 26, 2011. The 17th cycle is aptly titled the “All-Star Edition” where returning contestants, who did not win during their respective cycles, get to come back and redeem themselves for the title. There are a few winners and finalists, that did go on to discover some semblance of celebrity, even if it was not in modeling, and they include cycle 1 winner, Adrianne Curry, cycle 2 winner Yoanna House, cycle 3 winner Eva Pigford, and cycle 8 winner Jaslene Gonzalez.
