Reality shows on TV have a big draw on the public. One of the most popular is Extreme Makeover. Each week, viewers are drawn to families, usually with extreme challenges in life, that receive the gift of a brand new home. Generally, the new home is built on the original site with amazing features in the period of one week. It’s the ultimate fantasy and has many sending in, hoping they’ll be the next winner. However, winners beware because nothing comes for free and there are tax problems related to Extreme Makeover, something the program doesn’t tell viewers. When Extreme Makeover creates a brand new home that is usually much larger, with many improvements inside and out, you can guarantee that there is going to be a new tax assessment. The families that are chosen as recipients usually are experiencing great financial hardship. Giving them a big hike in their tax bill could be devastating, resulting in a family that can’t sustain the taxes on the dream home that was tailored to their desires and interests. That as well as increased energy costs in a bigger space could be a problem. Extreme Makeover needs to truly make their gift work.

Each cycle, contestants seek to answer that very question; Who is America’s Next Top Model.

The reality television show, was created in 2003 by supermodel Tyra Banks, and gives young female hopefuls from around the United States the opportunity to fulfill their modeling dreams by participating in an elimination style contest that simulates real-life scenarios (photo shoots, catwalks, commercials, go-sees, drama, and catfights) in the modeling profession. The young ladies are then judged each week by a panel of fashion professionals, which have included over the years, Janice Dickinson, Twiggy, Paulina Porizkova, Kimora Lee Simmons, and Andre Leon Talley. Is this new to you? Catch up here Ultimately, Creator and executive producer, Tyra Banks is the deciding factor on who goes home and who moves on “in the hopes of becoming America’s Next Top Model.”

The reality show was renewed for a 17th and 18th cycle on April 26, 2011. The 17th cycle is aptly titled the “All-Star Edition” where returning contestants, who did not win during their respective cycles, get to come back and redeem themselves for the title. There are a few winners and finalists, that did go on to discover some semblance of celebrity, even if it was not in modeling, and they include cycle 1 winner, Adrianne Curry, cycle 2 winner Yoanna House, cycle 3 winner Eva Pigford, and cycle 8 winner Jaslene Gonzalez.

The Apprentice will not survive if Donald Trump wins the presidency. If Trump becomes president, it is too time consuming to run the country and produce reality television. The show is so widely popular because Donald Trump is extremely charismatic in the boardroom. With his unique blend of bitter honesty and business acumen, viewers have tuned in year after year to see what Mr. Trump has to say.

The Apprentice will not work with anybody other than Donald Trump. If Trump tries to pass the show off to another celebrity or to his kids, it will fail. Donald Trump is the show. Without his quick insights and ability to get to the bottom of complex situations, nobody will watch. The show will simply miss its star way too much, and this will hurt the credbility of the show.

If Trump wins the presidency, The Apprentice will be finished. It needs a star to keep the viewers tuning in week after week. Without an exciting boardroom finish to each episode, the show will quickly lose its luster. It is for this reason that a Trump presidency will kill the show. If he had time to run the country and host the show, then things would be different.

If you read our blog you know we’re obsessed with reality TV but have you garnered who our favorite characters are? Check out your direct.tv channel lineup to catch some of who we think are the best reality stars out there and wish you could call one of them up for a beer…
Jeff Lewis: BRAVO’s biggest star is also the most OCD man on television, currently, which is what makes him so painfully pleasant to watch. He’s got the drama and the skills to back it up which we think make for great TV.
Ramona Singer: Real Housewives newest villain is as crazy as she is bug-eyed and she loves Pinto Grigio more than the average person. Ramona loves to stir the pot and point fingers and she’s quickly become our most-hated Real Housewives candidate.
Macy: If you like Teen Mom you’ve got to love Macy. She’s the best mom we’ve seen on TV and she’s only 18 and her problems are more real than what you normally see on reality TV. Macy’s got a bright future ahead of her and she’s the most likeable character on our list.

Flava Flav stars in the reality hit show “Flavor of Love”. This reality show puts contestants up against one-another in order to impress, and win Flava Flav’s heart. The VH1 television hit series has went through three seasons, and many wonder ‘why can’t Flava Flav ever find love?’. The answer is debated between viewers, and fans alike. Does the idea of multiple television seasons allow Flava Flav to find the need to avoid love? There will not be a fourth season of “Flavor of Love” according to Flava Flav, “I ain’t going to do it again,” Flav says.Is this new to you? Catch up here Too many tries “make people think Flav can’t find real love.” Although many fans continue to think Flava Flav will find love, eventually at least. Maybe the sense of being on a reality-game-show ruins the chemistry Flava Flav might have found with a woman on the show. Either way, the third season was the final try for Flava Flav. The winner of season three, Tresha, was Flava Falv’s last pick. Through the entire season Flava Flav did not find anyone, either winners or losers, that he would chose to date and marry. The question of why he can’t find love, can only be understood if you are in the mind of the infamous Flava Flav.

It may be producers getting fed up with overpaid and temperamental actors or America’s obsession with the genre but it seems that every season there are less scripted programs and more reality shows. Most reality shows involve competition and elimination culminating in a big prize. The prize can be money, fame or even love.

Dating centered competition programs aren’t a new genre. The Dating Game first aired in 1965 with three contestants vying to win a date or even love. Today’s dating shows take the concept a step further. Contestants are often challenged physically or mentally and sometimes both with the loser being ejected from show or placed on some type of jury.

Is it possible to find a soul mate on one of these shows? Judging from past seasons of shows such as the Bachelor, For Love or Money and Temptation Island the odds aren’t good. These shows haven’t produced many long-term relationships.

Other competition shows that were not dating related have resulted in some love matches however. The most well known pair is former Survivor contestants Amber and Rob. The couple avoided elimination and were the sole survivors of their season when Amber was handed the prize and Rob proposed marriage on the cast reunion show.

Even after shows like “The Bachelor,” it is no surprise the main character ultimately stays a bachelor. Some men in this world are just designated to be bachelors their entire lives. Reality shows like this are exciting to watch, because one almost hopes that a “bachelor” kind of guy can ultimately learn how to become committed to a woman and fall in love.

Many men on reality television shows are simply players, and that is why they end up staying single throughout their lives. Some men can not handle the concept of commitment, and they are unable to stay committed to even the most beautiful woman in the world.

Other men have standards that no woman could ever hope to attain. Some men are just too picky when it comes to choosing the right woman. These types of men are on a quest for literally finding a “perfect” woman who simply does not exist. Thus, these reality stars will also stay bachelors forever.

Some men also do not know what they want. Because they are so indecisive, they can never pick just one woman out of a crowd. These sorts of men also stay single in their lives, because they are unable to ever make a choice and stick with it.

Men that are reality television bachelors will likely remain bachelors for the rest of their lives, and that is simply the way it is.Still bored?
